The Structure of the Artistic Space in the Films About Power
Abstract. The article is devoted to analysing the artistic space of films about power, in which poetics is inextricably linked to politics. Such an analysis is a key to the meaning of a film and a step towards understanding the philosophy of power contained in it. The article continues the method of spatial analysis based on the identification of significant areas in the artistic structure of a film: the space of power (the area of rulers), the space of subordinates, and the sacred space. When studying a film, it is important to determine the qualitative characteristics of each area, the properties and functions of its boundaries. In each specific film, the nature of interaction between the areas differs significantly. In order to understand the plot of a film, it is important to study the dynamics of interaction between the areas, as well as the possibilities and conditions for transition from one area to another. Transition from the space of subordination to the space of power is considered in the article as an initiation plot. The exit from the space of power into the sacred space reveals the metaphysics of power hidden in the plot of a film.
